MapleMedic Ltd. is an Ontario-licensed recruiter, licence REC-0000018763. MapleMedic helps UK-trained family doctors (GPs) find positions in Ontario clinics. MapleMedic was founded by two UK-trained doctors: a GP and a GP trainee. MapleMedic never charges doctors a fee, directly or indirectly. Clinics that hire through us pay us.

For eligible UK-trained GPs with the MRCGP, the main route is CFPC certification without examination, then CPSO registration. We support doctors through these steps; the decisions rest with the CFPC and the CPSO.

Our main focus is UK-trained family doctors (GPs). We also speak with family doctors trained in Ireland, Australia, the United States and other countries about roles in Ontario. Licensing routes differ by country, and the CFPC and CPSO decide eligibility.

Why we built MapleMedic

We're UK-trained doctors with ties to Canada. Tiraan is Canadian and trained as a GP in the UK, and he is going through Canada's licensing himself. Mikhail is a GP trainee (UK) and plans his own move once he finishes training.

In UK general practice, we met many colleagues who wanted to work in Canada. Many never made the move. The move felt all-or-nothing.

In 2024, 5.7 million Canadian adults didn't have a regular health care provider, according to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).

So we built MapleMedic to help family doctors find Ontario clinics that suit them, with proper onboarding, supervision and a good team.

What we don't do

We can't promise a job, CPSO registration or a work permit. The CFPC, the CPSO and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) make those decisions.

We currently support positions in Ontario only.
